What can I say? I'm a Grand Island native. I've been working in TV news for the better part of 13 years. I started in June of 2001 as audio operator and part time photographer at KHAS-TV while I was going to school at Central Community College.
In 2004, I graduated and went down to Wichita, Kansas to work for KWCH as a photojournalist. I spent 4 years there.
One of the stories I covered was the BTK Killer. The one that touched me the most was the May 4, 2007 Greensburg Tornado.
In the spring of 2009 I decided to move back to Nebraska and come back to work at News 5.
One of the first stories I worked on when I moved back was to cover one of the Honor Flights from Omaha to DC to honor the WWII veterans. That was the first time I got to fly on a 747. You know it's a big plane when a bus can fit under one of the wings.
I am born and raised in Grand Island, in the great state of Nebraska. GO BIG RED!
I like long walks on the beach by a lake. Did I mention I'm a big Husker fan?
Since coming back to Nebraska, I have been able to spend more time with my parents and brother and sister-in-law who live in York with their two kids. I have another brother and sister in-law who have two kids and live in Arnold, Maryland.
I like getting out and meeting people and telling their stories.
Did I mention I love the Huskers?
