Will Sherratt

Weekend Sports Anchor

Will Sherratt joined the News 5 Sports team in August 2012 as the weekday sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. Will is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism, Electronic Media. Go Ducks!

Will’s love for sports began at an early age. Growing up in San Francisco, Will shared countless games at “The Stick” and AT&T Park with his father, rooting for their beloved Giants and 49ers. Needless to say, things have been pretty good in the Bay Area sports world these last few years!

Just like sports, his love for journalism also began early on. As a youngster, Will would frequently mute the television and provide his own commentary during games—hoping to be the next Bob Costas. This continued on into high school, where he had the opportunity to do play-by-play for Alameda High School football games.

When it came time to make a college decision, the University of Oregon proved to be the perfect fit. A terrific journalism school combined with an outstanding athletic program afforded Will the opportunity to pursue his passion.

During school, Will worked as a sports reporter for the campus television station, Duck TV. He also gained valuable experience working for ESPN in the College Football department, as well as interning at KABC-TV in Los Angeles and KMTR-TV in Eugene during his undergrad days.

Will is extremely excited to cover both the Huskers and the terrific local sports here in Nebraska. If you have a story idea, or a question feel free to email him at will.sherratt@khastv.com
