After a long wait, the new permanent Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Facility is now open. The location is on the Grand Island, Nebraska Central Nebraska Regional Airport site, about two blocks south of the airport terminal building on the east side of Sky Park Road.
Return to event list.The Clean Community System helps to keep household hazardous waste from reaching our waterways through runoff, sewer spills, storm drains and landfills, thus keeping our water clean. The facility is open for collection every Monday from 11-5 and the first and third Saturday of each month from 8-noon. BY APPOINTMENT ONLY ON TUESDAY TO THURSDAY IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN THE GRAND ISLAND AREA! This will help to keep them out of the ground water or landfill. Since 1982, the Grand Island Area Clean Community System has been making Grand Island and Greater Nebraska a better place to live. This non-profit organization is funded mainly by grants and donations. |
