Katie Gauthier
Reporter/Weekend Weather Anchor
Katie Gauthier joined the News 5 and Skywatch 5 team in October of 2011 as a weekday reporter and weekend weather forecaster. She is a Colorado native and graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!) with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast News from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
During her time at CU, Katie served as a team member of the university's own televised newscast, News Team Boulder. Katie worked as a reporter, anchor, photographer, writer, editor, and more for the show.
Katie interned for over a year a KMGH, 7News in Denver as a news and weather intern. She gained valuable experience training under some of Denver's most elite meteorologists, anchors, reporters, and photographers.

Katie has always had a strong passion for weather. Blame it on the ever-changing conditions in Colorado - the day she moved to Nebraska there was a large snowstorm in Colorado, whereas the day before the weather was 80 degrees with sunny skies!
During her free time Katie enjoys hiking, camping, boating, the outdoors, writing, reading, watching movies, laughing, and spending time with friends and family.
