Evening Anchor/Reporter
Jeniffer Berry anchors News 5 at 6 and 10 p.m. She joined the News 5 team as a reporter in June of 2007. Since that time she has anchored News 5’s Weekend Edition, News 5 at 11:30 and co-anchored News 5 Today.
In 2010, Jeniffer was awarded '1st place feature story' in the 2010 Great Plains AP Broadcast Contest for a "Celebrate Youth" story on a female football player in Grand Island.
Jeniffer is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she majored in broadcast journalism and also studied geography and Spanish. While at TCU, served as News Director, anchor and reporter for TCU's newscast "News Now." She also interned with WMUR-TV's "New Hampshire Chronicle"--one of her favorite shows growing up.
“I think I love broadcast journalism so much because I love pictures,” says Jeniffer. “I’ve always loved to tell stories, but I love to show people new things even more. I enjoy spending time with people, learning about my community and helping them in any way possible. I like waking up every morning and not knowing what to expect when I get to work or who I’m going to meet—each day is exciting and different. I’d be hard-pressed to find a career so fascinating.”
While she is originally from News Hampshire, Jeniffer has enjoyed calling Nebraska home. She frequently travels the state, visiting museums, historic markers and even cheering on the Huskers.
Jeniffer enjoys covering local news in Nebraska because she believes understanding your own community helps you to better understand others’. “I grew up loving local news, and I’ve wanted to do this my whole life. Telling Central Nebraska’s stories is a dream come true,” Jeniffer says.
In her free time, Jeniffer enjoys traveling, dancing, reading, cooking, hiking, and spending time outside.
