Deb Fischer heads to Grand Island to campaign
Just days after the primary elections, the candidates are logging miles and pressing the flesh.
Republican Candidate Deb Fischer was in Grand Island Friday morning thanking constituents for their primary vote and rallying support for November. New polling results released by Rasmussen Reports show Fischer as having an 18 point lead over her opponent, Bob Kerrey. In a survey of 500 likely voters, 56% would choose Fischer on the ballot. "Well, I believe I was always ahead of Mr. Kerrey in all the polls that were out early too, of course this is after an election, you always get a bump in the polls after an election, but I do know that his numbers have not changed in the polls, he was 38% before, and he's 38% now," said Fischer. Fischer says that she plans to run a positive campaign, continue to travel across Nebraska, and highlight the differences between her and Kerrey. |
