When you head to the polls for Decision 2012 in just 4 weeks you'll see four constitutional amendments on the ballot. And the League of Women Voters of Hastings wants to make sure voters understand what they are.

It's why the group hosted a discussion of the four amendments Friday.

Among them is the grounds for impeachment of a civil officer to include not just time in office but while seeking the office.

Also, the right to hunt and fish, the limit of legislative terms and increasing legislative salaries.

Former 33rd district state Senator Ardyce Bohlke spoke on behalf of legislative salaries. She supports the amendment, saying senators don't get enough credit.

"But as you graduate and have a role as being a chair of a committee, it's year round. And, I think what other people don't realize sometimes, we have no benefits," said Bohlke.

The amendment would increase the salary for members of the legislature from $12,000 a year to $22,000 a year.
