I hope everyone had a glorious memorial day weekend. I heard the weather was up and down. I always found it challenging to go to the lake or due water things on this weekend at home. I really don't like cold water. Especially cold lake water. It obviously hasn't been warmed by the weather like it is in July. Plus this spring from what I can tell has been more on the cold side. In high school I was a little more tough. I had 2 really great friends back then that I did everything with. Mike Lau and JJ Granstrom. Tremendous people. They were so different and such great friends. We fed off of each others laughter. JJ talked all the time. I was the crabby, smartbutt, and Mike was just funny and nice. I could not have asked for better friends in my life. What does this have to do with cold water. Well JJ had a boat b/c unlike most 16-18 year olds he pretty much worked all the time. He quit sports to work. He loved it and that is what he liked to do. So he had enough money to have a boat and we would water ski forever. We even bought a wetsuit so that we could make the seasons longer. We would water ski in the rain, cold, and sometimes pretty close to dark. We even probably did it naked. I will not confirm or deny that activity. Heck you only live once. It is one of those things ideas that you just don't think about until its too late. Boy though it makes you laugh. We only did that during the heat of the season though. Thats if it ever happened. Wink. Wink. You know why? Its called shrinkage. Everybody who ever watched the show Seinfeld knows exactly what I'm talking about. It made JJ very uncomfortable for the obvious reasons. Water skiing did not go without its accidents. One of the two gashes in my head came from that activity. I came around the corner pretty fast and bit it. Thank God I had my cloths on. Mike said I looked like I was walking on water. Well I left the ski behind me somewhere. Came out of the water and it nailed me in the head. Stitches. The bad part was it was at Hastings Lake. I'm sorry if I offend anybody but we called that place the bathtub. Thats b/c we thought it was pretty gross. Like taking baths after a hard, stinky, dirty day. Sit in our own filth. Obviously not a big bath lover here. Anyway we did everything we could to keep our heads out of the water. If I did get water up my nose I would be stuffed up for a week from that place. We spent a lot of our time down at Harlan and really enjoyed every aspect of the lake. We even had this thing called and air chair. You actually sit on it and you go pretty slow and it has about a 2 feet wing-like thing under it and it comes out the water. There are people that can jump with that thing. The best I ever did was about 5 seconds and then face plant. My point is life is about experiences and friends. I started out in my life with 2 of the best people I will have ever met in my lifetime. I was blessed.
The discussion today is the gifts I gotten in the mail. They were really nice that these people sent me these things and the mail that I have received. It truly makes you feel special when you get mail. Especially here.
The first picture is a layout of some of the items I received in a box from afar.

As you can see it has the regular amounts of candy that I have mapped out in a previous blog. The hot tamales, salted nut roll, and there are gummy/sour worms. There was some milk duds but they did nor fair well on the trip. They were white instead of brown. Unless they changed something I don't think I should eat them. That leads me to a funny story. I was in college. 2nd year. First year out of the dorm. Getting in the rhythm of being by myself and taking care of an apartment. I think I alluded to my habits previously of leaving spoons in jars and ice cream containers. Thus is where it started b/c there was no dish washer in this apartment. Save the silverware. I liked milk a lot back then. Not so much now b/c intolerant. Too much information. Anyway I was coaching/training and came back from a road trip about 3-4 am. Was thirsty. Went to the fridge and saw a carton of a half a gallon of milk. Most of the mild we my now is a gallon in those jugs. This was not a see through jug like container. A well mannered person would of acquired a glass and poured himself some milk. Not me. Conserving the dishwashing. I opened that top of the carton and tipped hastily b/c I was tired and thirsty. The first part was that yellowish soured stuff that separated off the top and before I had that the 2nd layer of curdled mild splatted me right in the face. 2 shots in one. Disgusting 1st layer then the thick curdled milk. The moral of that story is probably 2 fold. Use a glass and check the milk in a carton before you drink it.
The other things there are a little hoop and ball. A small basketball/dice game and a finger bowling game. Haven't gotten them all out yet. The hoop doesn't work well in an 8 foot clearance room. Will work on it. I have a pale and shovel to play in the sand. The weather though is just not cooperating though.
The funny part about the gift box from the office is that it had these two little wonderful tidbits in there.

There are little Nebraska license plate for Dean and I. They are hillarious. I thought that at first. I gave the one to Dean and he was very appreciative. I then looked at mine closer. In previous blogs I have remained and reminded people that I have brought some bad luck to the situation here with increased work, weather, and rocket attacks. In those blogs I referred to myself at Sh*t Magnet. It was obvious that the individual forget it was just Sh*t. They took it on themselves to add the head part to the sh*t. I can't tell if theis means that I attract sh*theads to me. Maybe they are taking a swipe at Dean, Maj Bro, or maybe even Diane back in the OR in Hastings. Or was there point to call me a sh*thead. I am not sure but I think we need to clarify some things about that. It made for a good laugh. I also think that I used the word sh*t enough for one day in a blog. Sorry about that but couldn't make my point without the word.
The last picture is of a new kind of gummy treat that I have never experienced before.

This tasty thing is a combination of a strawberry sensation with a touch of cream mixed in with that wonderful gummy aspect. These things went down in about 15 minutes. The whole bag. It was quite amazing. There are some candy that you just inhale and some that you saver. These you inhale.
I miss home and all the people and work. Hope everyone is doing well. Remember the haircut deal is extended to July 1st. We are looking to raise some money for some good people. The address is 2207 W. Osborne Drive Suite 100 and make the checks out to AC Hoops but make sure you specify in a note or on the check which organization you want the money to go to. The YMCA, S and J Detasseling (St. Cecelia), AC Hoops, or Hastings TigerBAll. Thanks again
