The world is going crazy when days like this lead to the documentation of my next story. You know you are looking for ways to entertainment yourself when we have come to this level. This is truly Dean's personality. I am mystifiedd how he can come with this stuff but I think it is a true testiment to what kind person he is. His family and friends know this but he is such a good guy. He is a story just in himself. The people in this world make you realize that if you take yourself so seriously life can be pretty boring. He never takes himself seriously. I am blessed to have him here with me. I think people come into your life to teach you things. He has taught me to make the best out of things and find the good in everything. Don't take life too seriously.

The first picture is Dean showing us his seeds.

The first I heard of his plans a few weeks ago. He obtained radish seeds and this package of flower seeds. Showed them to me and i told him he was crazy. I think I shook my head first and then I said that. I didn't know what to make of it at first. I kind of thought he was pulling my leg but then as he described his plan it was obvious that he wasn't. The biggest challenge is where do you plant this stuff. He had a reason behind his madness with radishes. They supposedly have a short growing season of 4 weeks or something like that. There is no such thing as dirt that looks black here. It just looks like sandy/gritty dust. I have seen a few weeds but no obvious other things that grow here. So where do you plant this stuff. This is his solution in the picture below

This is awesome. Over the days leading up to the planting he went out and saw how the sun was going to be in and around cell block D where we live. We have an overhead coverage that I have shown you pictures of before and it provides good coverage but you want some sun. Its obviously very hot and sunny here so that 110 degree weather doesn't allow things to grow very well here. The ballistic walls that surround us are called Hesco's. I think that is b/c that is who makes them. They are thick felt surrounded by wire and then they are filled with sand/dirt. They come in all different sizes. The picture shows that the base is larger and broad and then the second level is more narrow. That leaves the ledge that you see here. In that ledge in our cell block he planted his crop. I think it looks awesome. There is still no growth yet though.

Here is a closer look at the garden.

The brownish appearance is his attempt to fertilize the area. I think it is coffee grounds. You can see the water bottle there. We have stacks of these huge water bottle packed in plastic everywhere around the camp. I think they come in with a huge pallet full of these bottles and wrapped in sets of 16. They drop them off around all the living places. You can just pick them up as you need. Dr. Braswell has offered to urinate on this area every so often. That way he doesn't have to go as far to the bathroom. Dean does not want radishes supplied by the urine of another human. Don't know why.

I leave you with this last picture.

This is me not taking myself too seriously. I walked around like this all day. No I didn't. Just to the operating room to work on someone. Made that guy feel confident didn't I. I was big fan of Erkle a long time ago. "Did I say that" If you don't know the show that will go right over your head.

I asked Dean about radishes. I have eaten those before compared to the beet thing that he has going on. I wouldn't go out of the way to eat them though. I think it was a pure ability to grow something. Not sure if they will grow but if they do I am not sure I will not eat them b/c I don't trust Dr. Braswell. I think he will urinate on them.
