He is a young man with a big dream - to become President of the United States.  It is a job one Grand Island teenager knows takes a lot of dedication, time, and most of all public service.  Those are three qualities he already has.  News 5's Jeniffer Berry shows us how he is giving back in this week's Celebrate Youth.

One hundred people, three hundred lives - a big goal for the one teenager behind it all.

"I like to help people,” said organizer Tom Cravey.

It seemed like as good a reason as any for Tom Cravey to organize this.

"I thought why don't I do a huge blood drive and get the entire city of Grand Island working together.../all of the businesses, all of the schools, just everybody. Everybody gets involved... called Grand Island giving back,” said Tom.

And giving back is what they are doing pint, by pint.

One hour into what Cravey is hoping will be Grand Island's largest ever community drive, 30 people give 30 pints.

"Talking to people, just wandering around,” said Tom.

While even more wait for their chance.

"It feels really good. That's saving  3 hundred lives, which is a big deal. It's big deal to me,” said Cravey.

A big deal not just helping others, but seeing an entire community learning how to give back.

"If we've got a lot of people shooting for the stars, we've got a lot of successful people out there,” said Tom.

Living their lives the way Cravey has vowed to live his.

"I shoot for the stars every day of my life. And I land somewhere near them."

Monday it is helping save a life or 300, one pint at a time.

The "Grand Island Giving Back" Blood Drive had more than 100 donors sign up, but in the end, it did not quite reach the 1 hundred pint goal.

But Cravey and the Red Cross are both proud that 30 of the people who gave, were first time donors with the Red Cross.

Truly, a young man who is already learning how to make a difference.
