[Highlights] STC and Grand Island volleyball
(9/22/2009) By Ed Littler - When Alan VanCura coached his first varsity volleyball game at St. Cecilia high school, Gerald Ford had taken the oath of office as President of the United States just a few weeks earlier.
35 years and still going strong. Coach VanCura is still on the bench for the Bluehawks guiding the team to victory most of the time.
He was honored before Tuesday night's game against Doniphan–Trumbull at Chapman Gym.
There was more volleyball at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island with the Heartland Classic.
