Clay Center coach celebrates 300th game

(10/20/2009) News 5 Sports - What a week for Clay Center volleyball coach Julie Studnicka. She won her 300th game as Wildcat coach Monday against High Plains, but that is far from all.

After her team accomplished that victory Monday night defeating High Plains in the first round of the Crossroads Conference tournament, the squad and fans had a celebration.

Volleyball is far from everything on her mind, though.

Her 3 daughters Bridgett, Brandice and Brindl were not here at this game, and for good reason.

Julie's husband is in South Carolina this week watching Brindl play.

Julie's son Bryson plays football at the University of Wyoming.

Julie's four children have all played or are currently playing, college ball.

When Clay Center high school closes and merges with nearby Sandy Creek high school next August, it is expected Julie Studnicka will become volleyball coach at Sandy Creek.
