Huskies defeat Alliance in first round of state playoffs

(11/1/09) By Colin Murphy - High School football games in Nebraska are 4 quarters, and 12 minutes long.

The Aurora Huskies really only needed one quarter in their win over Alliance in the first round of the state playoffs.

Coach Randy Huebert's team had eight plays in the first quarter for 215 yards and three touchdowns.

And, the Huskies never looked back on their way to a 54–18 win over Alliance.

Aurora QB Tyson Broekemeier only played the first half of the game and was 5 of 7 passing for 152 yards and three scores.

The Huskies said they wanted to jump out early on Alliance. And, their big plays to start the game were the key to the win.
