Monday Night Highlight Reel

(11/02/2009) By Colin Murphy - It is win or go home in the state highschool football playoffs. There are only a handful of teams still alive for a state title. Here at News 5's we are always a winner, especially when it comes to our Monday Highlight Reel.

Happy Halloween everyone. Welcome to News 5's Monday Highlight Reel where everyone is invited whether you are a turtle or a tiger.
So, dry off and enjoy this week's Monday Highlight Reel.

We start in Ravenna. And the Bluejays have redemption on their minds against Kearney Catholic. Josh Krull helps the Bluejays soar in the night past the Stars with this td run and Ravenna advances to round two with a 28–0 win.

Bundle up as head out to the Wild and the home of the Blue Hill Bobcats. Riley Bonifas shows his cat like speed as he breaks this long run and Blue Hill defeats Southwest 13–0.

Next, we fly over to Lloyd Wilson field, where Ben Konen of St. Cecilia flaps his wings and winds up in the end–zone after this 17 yard td run. The Bluehawks beat Battle Creek 47–12. Next stop is a long drive to Omaha where Grand Island gets help from Aaron Roeberg. He takes this catch and runs to this green Island where he is rewarded with six points.

And, the 12th seeded Islanders play Cinderella and knock off 5th seed Omaha North 31–18. A date with Elkhorn is up next.

Put on your shoes and let's head to Adams Central. In their game against Seward, Patriot Zach Hunt shoots down the bird's title hopes with this interception going 65 yards and just like Hunt Ketchup, Zach squeezes in for the score to lead the Patriots to a 28–0 win over the Bluejays. Now, they will go on the road to face Gering.

The King is calling an end to this show. But, if you haven't been on News 5 yet this year, just put up your hands, and look or listen for your name. And, join us next week for another edition of the Monday Highlight Reel.
