For 38 years, Laurene Andreasen has provided costumes for school plays, community theatre and even Halloween costumes.

This is an especially busy time of year for the Costume Shop in Hastings given Halloween is just a week away.

Laurene Andreasen has been busy getting her 11 rooms of costumes ready for rent.

Laurene said she's made about 95% of her collection and most of them without a pattern.

She said she enjoys running the costume shop because she loves children and Halloween brings out the inner child in all of us.

"When someone comes in here to rent a costume, you have to pick their brain, you've got to find the little child in them before they really get interested and that's what makes the costume business fun," said Laurene Andreason, The Costume Shop.

Laurene said most costumes will be purchased this week and people get ready for festivities this weekend. The costumes are reasonably priced.

Prices for a costume range from $10 - $35.
