Artery blockages may predict stroke
Blockages in the arteries may be a predictor of stroke even among otherwise healthy people.
German researchers found middle age to older adults who had more coronary artery calcifications were three times more likely to have a stroke than those with lower levels. Blockages were especially accurate in foretelling stroke in patients younger than 65 and those at low-risk for cardiovascular disease. |
