Hurricanes, tornadoes, even floods. When those disasters occur the Red Cross is there to help. Tuesday night they were asking for you to lend a hand.

The Central Plains Red Cross Chapter held a free training session for those interested in learning how they can help the Red Cross during disasters.

The event was designed to introduce different activities to community members, but also to try to attract volunteers.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides support to victims of disasters.
