Study analyzes rural healthcare trends
The lower the population in a Nebraska county the fewer residents that have health insurance there. This according to a recent study done by the Center for Rural Affairs.
The study points out that the state's rural counties currently have lower health insurance rates than more urban ones for residents under the age of 65. The study also shows the lower the county's population the higher the rate of uninsured people living there. And according to the study, expanding Medicaid as allowed under the new Affordable Care Act would cut those rural uninsured rates almost in half. For more information on the study go to CFRA.org. |
