Dr. Janice Kutlek with the Grand Island Clinic says that she has seen several patients suffering with asthma. Plus she has seen some patients with strep throat and others with the common cold.

Along with that she's seen a number of patients suffering from something that is not considered an illness but it can cause physical and mental problems. Some of her patients are being bullied.

Kutilek says if you see a change in your child's personality from easy going to easy to anger or if your child is more emotional, not doing well in school, or not wanting to go to school make sure you ask your child or teen if someone is being mean to them.

Other symptoms of being bullied include anxiety and withdrawal.

Kutilek says bullying is a big problem and some kids that are being bullied become a suicide risk.

She says if you suspect bullying, it's a good idea to see your regular doctor. They can ask questions and find out more information.

Dr. Michael Johnson with the Hastings Family Practice says colds, and stomach illnesses are going around.

In some cases he has seen patients with the common cold who also have sore throats.

He has not seen any cases of strep throat, but he talked about the differences between a sore throat and strep throat. With strep throat the patient has a higher fever, a "severe" sore throat, and swollen glands.
