24-year-old mother charged with fatal child abuse

The mother of a two year old Naponee boy who died back in May was in District Court Thursday. 24 year old Laura Rinehart is charged with child abuse resulting in death.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the toddler, Joseph Rinehart, died of head and internal injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

In court day there was motion to hire an expert witness to go through the autopsy reports and look at the physical evidence.

The Franklin County Attorney says that information must be completed by January 15th of 2013.

A motion for psychological evaluation was denied.

The child's grandparents, Peter and Nancy Draper are facing the same charges.
