Back in October Verizon Wireless announced it was expanding its 4G coverage to Grand Island. Just two months later that coverage is expanding again.

Hastings and Kearney are going 4G December 20th. That's this Thursday.

For Hastings, new coverage will include the city of Hastings as well as Axtell, Heartwell, Holdrege, Juniata, Kenesaw and Minden.

New coverage from Hastings will also extend west on U.S. Highway 6 to Holdrege and north on U.S. Highway 281 to Grand Island.

New 4G LTE coverage will also include the city of Kearney and Gibbon, Pleasanton and Ravenna.

Coverage from Kearney will extend east along U.S. Highway 30 and Interstate 80 to Gibbon and north along State Highway 10 to the Buffalo County line.

From Ravenna, new coverage will extend both east and northwest to the Buffalo County line.
