The Historic Grand Theater in Grand Island hosted the 5th annual Car Show.
More than 100 cars rolled in for this year's event. They competed for titles such as best chick magnet seen it in a movie and most likely to explode. There was no registration or admission fee, but patrons were encouraged to make a free will donation as they helped themselves to hotdogs and drinks. Donations helped restore the downtown theater.
"The whole idea of the Grand Theater is to give people someplace where they can have recreation for very little money... that's why we run on volunteers because we charge three fifty for adults two fifty for kids and concessions are one or two dollars you get half priced refills on pop and popcorn the whole idea is to get the whole family for under twenty bucks," said Grand Theatre Foundation President Craig Hand.
The Karate Kid is the movie this weekend at the Grand Theatre.
Shows begin Sunday at 7:15 PM.
