AAA calls for stop of E-15 sales

Stop the sale of E-15 fuel. That's what AAA is saying Friday when it comes to the newest gasoline offering in Nebraska.

The nation's largest motorist group is afraid that most drivers don't understand that only flex-fuel vehicles and cars 2012 or newer are approved to even use E-15.

AAA also states that only 5 percent of the vehicles currently on the road are able to handle the new fuel option.

Ford, Honda, Kia, Volvo, and Mercedes have all said that E-15 use will void your warranty and B-M-W, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagon add they will not cover E-15 related claims.

The Renewable Fuels Association, however, is sticking with its stance that E-15 is safe for nearly all cars made after 2001.
