Adams Central student remains in coma after train accident

The Adams Central High School student injured Monday morning in a train - car accident remains in a coma at a Lincoln hospital.

Cassidy Wormstadt was on Alda Road north of Juniata in dense fog and slick conditions when her car slid into a Union Pacific train.

Cassidy was taken to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln where she was in surgery all day to stop internal bleeding.

She suffered broken ribs, numerous broken vertebrae, and bruising to her liver and kidneys.

Donations for Cassie and her family will be taken at Thursday night's Twin Valley conference girls basketball game.
