Adams County road crews begin to clear snow
The Adams County Highway Department says they're hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Snow crews are already out clearing the streets.
But they won't work overnight according to the County Highway Superintendent Wednesday.
The department will stick to its normal route for moving snow. They'll have four trucks on the asphalt and thirteen maintainers.
Depending how bad the storm progresses plows could take an extra day to get to the streets.
Black ice will be a major concern for drivers as they leave work Wednesday night.
County Highway Superintendent Dawn Miller advises travelers not to pass any snow plows.
"The main tip we have is to stay back from the salt sanders because the flying gravel out of them and also with the snow coming off the front of the plow they cant see those vehicles behind them," Miller said.
Blowing and drifting will impact how quickly the county can service the roads.
Maintainers will hit the streets again first thing in the morning probably around 5:00 a.m.
