The search for a missing Amtrak passenger narrows to west of Lincoln. Based on passenger reports, Amtrak authorities believe missing 68-year-old Charles Dowd may have opened an exterior door and fallen off the California Zephyr somewhere between McCook and Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Now crews are searching the 160 mile rail line between those markers.

Dowd has been missing since last Thursday, September 13th, after boarding a train in California bound for Chicago.

Tuesday, the Dowd family began searching along the Amtrak line running from Lincoln west toward Fort Morgan.

Charlie Dowd has gray hair and blue eyes, wears glasses, and is 5'10" tall. He may be disoriented and in need of medical attention.

Anyone with information concerning Dowd's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
