With the Dow hitting a record high two days in a row what is the effect on local investors? Terry Anstine the President of Five Points Bank says that it shouldn't have too much of an effect on people who are just now opening up a 401-K.
In fact, he says he read that consumers are investing more than ever into 401-Ks.
He says it's best to start early and contribute regularly regardless of the market.
But does the rise in stocks have an effect on our local farmers?
"No matter what we think agricultural prices corn comes down to supply versus demand. If demand exceeds supply, prices go higher, if supply is greater than demand, prices go lower. We've had a couple years where we've had less than great reduction, so supply is lower, thus prices are up to ration what little supply there is," said Anstine.
Anstine says he hopes the trend will continue at a four or five percent a year return.
Although, he doesn't think the market will continue to see such substantial gains.
