Army National Guard conducts Chinook training in Hastings area

Have you been wondering about those helicopters flying in the air? News 5 has received several calls asking about helicopters hovering across Hastings.

Well, according to Major Kevin Hynes with the Army National Guard, it's basic training.

Major Hynes says the Army National Guard uses the Greenlief Training Site and the Hastings Municipal Airport to fly out of.

Because of the nice weather lately, they have been able to catch up on training.

For those of you wondering about helicopters or Chinooks sitting still in the sky - sometimes they get put into a holding pattern.
