A recent study revealed Adams County has an arts and culture industry that generates over $8 million a year in economic activity.

The study, conducted by Americans for the Arts, showed Hastings and Adams County generates $827 thousand in local and state government revenues and support 316 fulltime employees.

Director of Nebraskans for the Arts Marjorie Maas said the study shows how the arts binds the community together.

"We're really glad a study like this emphasizes those points but also says they make a difference in the fabric of jobs and resident household income and just the health of the community," Maas said.

Nonprofits and organizations in the county spent $5.4 million during the study, which in turn generated $6.7 million in household income for residents, both directly and indirectly.
