Bankruptcy charge dismissed against Buffalo County supervisor

Tools

The bankruptcy fraud charge against a Buffalo County Supervisor and his wife has been resolved. Dick and Janna Pierce of Miller have agreed to pay $20,000 to the Chapter 12 Trustee to pay their creditors.

In return, U.S. State attorney Deborah Gilg has agreed to dismiss the pending bankruptcy fraud charge.

They were charged with failing to disclose about $160,000 of Janna Pierce's income when they filed for bankruptcy in 2003.

That income was from commission on grants that she wrote in 2004 for Buffalo and neighboring counties.

However, she did not submit a bill to the Buffalo County Board of Supervisors until 2010. Her husband Dick, is on that board.
