Bankruptcy trial delayed for Buffalo County supervisor

Tools

The bankruptcy fraud trial for Buffalo County supervisor Richard Pierce and his wife has been delayed again. It was supposed to start today.

A District Court Clerk says the two have waived their right to a jury trial, but are not entering a plea agreement.

A bench triafl is now set for October 23rd.

The couple filed for bankruptcy in 2003.

They're accused of failing to disclose about $160,000 of Janna Pierce's income. The money was from commission on grants that she wrote in 2004 for Buffalo and neighboring counties. But, she didn't submit a bill to Buffalo County until 2010.

Still, the board voted to pay it. Richard Pierce sat on that board.
