by Amy West

Our Big Brother Big Sisters Match of the Month is Tyler Ripperger and Nolan Santo.

Amy West: You two have been paired together for a little more than a year now and, Nolan, you go to Watson Elementary School. What do you like most about Tyler coming over and being your Big Brother?

Nolan: He's fun to play with and a good person to be around.

Amy: Quite the compliment for you. You're just fun to be with. Why did you want to become a Big Brother?

Tyler: I wanted to become a Big Brother because I thought when I got into high school it was a good way to give back to the community and to, hopefully, use some of the good habits that I've developed to pass them on to the kids that I can help.

Amy: What's been the biggest lesson that you've learned from your Little Brother Nolan?

Tyler: Just that kids look up to you no matter what you do - not just Nolan - but all the kids I go and see at the elementary school they kind of look up to the big high schoolers and it's important to set a good example for them and that hopefully you can leave a good impression for them to be a good role model.

Amy: And, Nolan, what have you learned from your Big Brother?

Nolan: He's a good sport and if something goes wrong he'll tell me to back off of it.

Amy: Can you give us an example?

Nolan: Say that there's a kid and he's messing around with me and I'm mad he'll just tell me to turn around and walk away.

Amy: He gives you good advice that you can use in the future. And what's been your favorite activity that you've done with Tyler?

Nolan: Him and me playing basketball in the gym.

Amy: Fantastic. Well, we're so glad to have you guys on the show today. We hope you'll stay matched for a long time. Thank you for being here.
