Since 1957, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings uses the school year to focus on one to one mentoring but tonight they came together at a local elementary school to focus on togetherness.
Sunday night Lincoln Elementary was the place for the "bigs" and "littles" to get gather as a group and celebrate the friendships they've.
This is the one time that the over one hundred and forty kids and their mentors get to meet in one to one pairs outside of their school settings.
Organizers say both big and little benefit from the program.
"I think the bigs and littles just mutually really enjoy that event, we have some great bigs who give their time every week to build into the life of a child and our kids do a great job building that friendship too and just eagerly anticipate their match each week and participating in things together," said Match Support Specialist Dawn Conant.
This year's theme for the event? Ugly sweaters.
