October 20th and 21st is the Hastings Halloween Bike Show and Jeff Allen talked about the upcoming event. It brings a lot of fun, but it's also for a good cause.

Jeff: Yes, it is, it's for the SASA Crisis Center here in Hastings.

Amy: The SASA Crisis Center helps women who are victims of domestic and sexual abuse in the area. Why is it that you picked them as your charity?

Jeff: Last year was for the mission here locally. Every year we try to mix up the charity going from charity to charity and stuff like this kinda hits close to home. I've seen a lot of this, believe it or not, in small town America where I live. And it just kinda cuts to the heart and something tugged on that heart and I said let's help out the ladies and families and children here in town.

Amy: It's a perfect time because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We talked with SASA earlier this month and so it fits very well. And let's talk about this motorcycle show/swap meet. Lots going on. It starts the 20th. Tell me what's going on the 20th.

Jeff: The 20th basically is just a full out fun show for the family and friends. We've got a trick or treat for the kids. At 1:00 when the Nebraska game starts we have a 92" screen TV.

Amy: Wow. Eight feet about, right?

Jeff: Oh yeah, you stand there and get a suntan and cook your hotdog. The Kool-Aid guy is gonna be down there for the children. We've got good food, fun refreshments, adult beverages. We'll have toy haulers down there, every kind of motorcycle for sale and for show under the sun. Every kind of vendor you'd like from jewelry to leathers, you just name it. It's more fun than just going to the mall and hanging out for the weekend.

Amy: And you're not missing the game which is a huge plus. And then come Sunday you also have church service.

Jeff: Yes, we do. Bikers for Christ are a God send. I couldn't pull this show off without their help. We have just a phenomenal church service first thing in the morning at 9:00 am. We hand out trophies at 3:00 in the afternoon, but there's always stuff going on the entire weekend.

Amy: Alright, if somebody wants to get involved, bring in their bike, where do they go?

Jeff: Just go to HastingsHalloweenBikeShow.com and right there is all the information.

Amy: Again that is October 20th and 21st at the Adams County Fairgrounds.
