Burglaries continue to plague Grand Island

The string of burglaries across the city of Grand Island is increasing by the day. Since January 1st the Grand Island Police Department reports there have been 58 and eight attempted burglaries.

Grand Island Police says this is an unusually high number.

A mix of residential and businesses have been hit.

TV's, cash, laptops and even safes have been stolen from properties.

Grand Island Police say thieves are prying in places or kicking doors in.

One male was arrested in connection to another charge. The investigation is revealing ties to some of the burglaries.
