Chambers wins fight over prison work camp

Now to business on the legislature floor. You can effectively put one in the "win" column for Omaha State Senator Ernie Chambers. Following hours - and days - of filibustering Senator Mark Christensen has pulled his bill involving a McCook Prison Work Camp.

The bill had been the target of Chambers over the past week.

Chambers disagreed with a number of the elements of the bill which would have allowed prisoners to work for no-profit groups and charities.

Christensen won't be able to re-introduce the bill again until next year unless a different senator attaches it to their bill this session.
