Crossroads plans annual Spring banquet

It is officially spring and for the city of Kearney or for Kearney Crossroads Rescue Mission that also means that the Spring banquet is coming up on April 9th. Kyle Martindale joined us to talk about details on that event.

Kyle: Yes, ma'am, we're having our Spring Banquet. It's Sowing the Seeds of Hope. It's our second annual banquet in Kearney. We're having it April 9th at 6:00 pm at the Younes Center. It's just north of the Interstate in Kearney. If you're interested in providing financial assistance for that or for getting tickets to it you can contact Kyle Bruna. He is between the offices most of the time. A lot of time up in Kearney this time of year, but he can also be reached at kylebruna@crossroadsmission.com and he can get you set up with some tickets.

Amy: And that Kearney facility has only been around for a little more than a year now, but already it's had time so it's at capacity, it's expanded its capacity and now again it's close to capacity.

Kyle: Yep, we stay very close to capacity there at the Kearney center. When we were at 27 for our capacity we always had a waiting list of about 15-20 or more. And so now our capacity went up 15, we stay pretty full and have just a shorter waiting list now as well. So it's great to see things. And the Kearney community has really accepted Crossroads and so we're looking at hopefully in the future sometime having a thrift store like we do in Hastings. So that not only can we provide our guests with more clothing items than what we can right now, but also have that as a source of income for the center as well.

Amy: Yes, it's been such a huge success in Hastings and as Kearney expands people want to see more of those things up there. And, of course, April 9th, again, we want to remind you of that big fundraiser for the Kearney facility. Lots of great things going on there and, of course, it needs a lot of funds, donations to keep it going. Thank you so much, Kyle.
