Cutting hair for a cure

Cutting hair for a cure. That's what several central Nebraska stylists and hair salons were doing Saturday to help raise money for the Nebraska AIDS Project.

Fifteen salons across the state took part in the event.

This is the first year for the Cut-a-thon and was organized by Jeffrey's Salon in Grand Island.

The salon owner, Jeffrey Perry says he wanted to get involved to help bring awareness to the project.

"We were at a show last year that NAP attended and started building awareness and we asked if we could set up a Cut-a-thon to help raise money," Perry said.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to NAP.

The salon says they hope this will become an annual event.
