The General Election is just 5 days away. Thursday night we continue our Decision 2012 election coverage with the Nebraska U.S. Senate Race.

Republican Candidate Deb Fischer is in Grand Island Thursday evening. It's one of her last stops in Central Nebraska as the Senate race heats up on both sides.

Thursday there was some big news from Democratic opponent Bob Kerrey, with a new endorsement.

It's a major campaign development. Some are even calling it a game changer. Former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel announced his endorsement Thursday for Kerrey.

Hagel served as Nebraska's Senator from 1997 to 2009. Four of those years overlapped with Kerrey's terms as Senator.

The endorsement was announced Thursday in Omaha and Lincoln.

Meanwhile, Fischer will have Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain campaigning for her Friday in Omaha.

This evening Fischer is joined by Governor Dave Heineman, Senator Mike Johanns, and Congressman Adrian Smith.
