Diocese of Lincoln officially welcomes new bishop

It's been a two year search, but the Diocese of Lincoln officially has a new Bishop.

Tuesday in Lincoln, the most reverend James Conley was installed as the ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Lincoln.

He will take over for Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, he handed in his retirement resignation two years ago.

Conley comes from Denver where he'd been serving as the Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Denver since 2008.

The ceremony was held at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ.
It was by invitation only.

Nearly 40 archbishops and over 200 priests took part in the ceremony.

There were representatives from the six different schools in the diocese of Lincoln including, St. Cecilia's Nick Brouilette.

Conley is a graduate of Kansas University. He converted to Catholicism during college.

The Diocese of Lincoln consists of more than 95,000 Catholics in 136 parishes.
