Dog falls through an icy lake in Grand Island

It was an adventurous afternoon for one pooch in Grand Island as it had to be rescued from an icy lake.

Grand Island Rural Fire Department responded to the call at Kuester Lake around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

They requested help from Grand Island Fire Department for the use of their Search and Rescue Team.

These are pictures of the rescue sent to us by Travis Spaulding.

Rescuers were able to get to the dog, which was about 20 feet out in the lake.

Both dog and rescuer made it back to the shore with no problems.

After being reunited with its owners, I'm sure it's enjoying the comfort of a warm home tonight.
