Drivers race flex fuel vehicles.

by By Logan Dobbs and Rachel Lake

Ethanol is not only a hit at the pumps, but also at the tracks. The Kearney Raceway Park hosted the Nebraska Ethanol National Open Races this weekend. Dozens of racers from across the country raced around the tracks with their flex fuel cars. They say E-85 makes the U.S. less dependent on foreign oil and it's good for the environment, producing fewer carbon monoxide emissions. One driver says he switched to ethanol four years ago and never looked back.
"It makes more power and it's a lot cheaper. It's $3 a gallon compared to $12 a gallon and I'm making more horse power than I was on race gas," driver Dwayne Waldlop.
E-85 is a 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. It can be used in any flex fuel vehicle.
