Dry weather sparks grassfire near Cairo

Local firefighters can't wait for that precipitation to hit the area after our dry conditions lately have led to a number of grass fires including, one in Hall County Tuesday.

View the video to see footage of the scene near the intersection of 13th and Alda road this afternoon. A fire broke out near Cairo at around 4:30.

The fire jumped across a number of different corn fields in the area.
Crews think the fire was started by a spark ignited by rail cars near the field.

The fire stretched across a number of cornfields in the area and damaged 60 acres of corn along with 30 acres of grass.
