This past year Hastings City Council has been working with an architectural firm to plan the Duncan Field renovation project. While the look of the final structure is still in the works, council members did approve a part of the final project to be ready in time for baseball season.

With a unanimous vote, City Council said yes to the new lighting system Tuesday night.

Installation work will begin in about a month.

The lights at Duncan Field right now will be used at a different park.

When it comes to the rest of the 2 million dollar renovation work could begin later this year.

That would include additional seating, a new concessions stand, locker rooms, and a new press box.
