Early voting surges across Nebraska

Tools

Some Nebraska voters aren't waiting until after the debates to make their decision. Many counties are reporting a "boom" when it comes to early voting requests.

Secretary of State, John Gale's office says county election offices across the state are getting a lot of requests for early voting ballots.

Hall County Election Commissioner Dale Baker says the office has seen about 500 voters a day since early voting started, and could use more equipment to accommodate the traffic.

Douglas and Sarpy Counties say they have already exceeded early voting requests and response during the 2008 general election,
and Lancaster County says it's on route to do the same.
