A house fire in Holdrege early Wednesday morning leaves one man displaced and causes thousands of dollars in damage.

The Holdrege volunteer fire department responded to the single family house fire just after 6:00 am Wednesday morning where they found flames coming out of the building's roof.

Chief James Wagner says structure on fire was located between the house and garage.

The homes renter reportedly woke up to a haze in his bedroom and when he opened his door the heat mark in the house was down about four feet.

Boesch got out of the house and called police.

Chief Wagner speculates that the fire's cause was electrical and estimates total damage around $30,000 to $40,000.
