Fiscal cliff bill reinstates support for alternative energy

Tools

The Fiscal Cliff Compromise Bill passed by Congress on New Year's Day, didn't just extend the farm bill that had expired in the fall.

It's also impacting tax credits for alternative energy, namely wind energy and ethanol, two things we hear a lot about here in Nebraska.

Some of the incentives to continue development of the alternative energies had expired in 2012.

But, with the passage of the bill, they are reinstated through the end of 2013. Specifically on cellulosic ethanol and tax credits for construction of wind energy facilities through the end of this year.
