Fischer makes U.S.Senate run official
Nebraska State Senator Deb Fischer made it official Wednesday afternoon. She's now on the ballot seeking the Republican nomination to the United States Senate.
Fischer filed the paperwork at the Nebraska Secretary of State's office in Lincoln. After filing, Fischer made a stop in Grand Island to talk about her candidacy. She says she's running for the U.S. Senate because the leadership of career politicians in Washington is failing our country. Fischer says she has built a conservative record during her nearly eight years in the Unicameral. Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning and state Treasurer Don Stenberg have already filed their paperwork declaring their candidacy. As of this week, there is still no Democratic challenger. |
