Not even a week after the 20-12 general election, there's more political talk. This has to do with the Nebraska gubernatorial race. Outgoing Speaker of the Legislature Mike Flood appears ready to announce his candidacy.

Monday he and his wife sent out a press release inviting the media to Norfolk for a special announcement about the "future of the state of Nebraska."

That announcement is expected around 7:00.

Flood has been touring the state since June and saying the state needs to invest in infrastructure, schools and the state's farmers.

Besides Flood, Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy has expressed interest in running for Gov. Dave Heineman's job in 2014.

The Nebraska Lieutenant Governor filed paperwork last December to run for governor.

If Flood is running, the two would face off in a May 2014 Republican primary.
