Florida flights delayed for Grand Island airport

Flights from Grand Island to Florida may not come as soon as some might have hoped. The Central Nebraska Regional Airport put out a request for proposals last month.

The deadline for airlines to bid on flying to Florida was yesterday.

No airlines sent in a bid.

Executive Director, Mike Olson says he thinks it was bad timing.

He says mergers and consolidations among many airlines were an issue.

The airport is planning to put out another request this summer.
